Fisher House Program

Fisher House LogoOverview of Fisher House Program

A Fisher House™ is "a home away from home" for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. The homes are normally located within walking distance of the treatment facility or have transportation available. There are thirty-eight (38) Fisher Houses™ located on twenty-nine (29) military installations and nine (9) VA medical centers with a Fisher House. 4 new VA Fisher Houses are under construction at Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center, Richmond, VA, Puget Sound VA Health Care System (Seattle Division), VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System and VA North Texas Health Care System (Dallas VA Medical Center). Construction will begin in 2008 at the Boston VA Health Care System, West Roxbury, MA.  VA Fisher Houses are planned at VA medical centers in Washington D.C., St. Louis, MO, Hines (Chicago, IL) and a second Fisher House at Minneapolis, MN. To learn more go to the Fisher House™ website.*
