Benefits Check Up by National Council on Aging for persons over 55 who want to maximize all the benefits for which they are eligible. Information about State resources, VA, SSI, Medicare, Medicaid, Meals on Wheels, food stamps, etc can be accessed in one central site. One has to enter zip code, and address but NOT name or Socieal Security number, so it's less invasive of privacy.
National Alliance For Caregiving offers the publications for care givers as well as other services.
Transportation
Angel Flight provides flights transporting patients and their families in private planes, free of charge, to hospitals for medical treatment. They also provide flights in a national crisis or whenever there is a compelling human need
Corporate Angel Network from their website: Corporate Angel Network is the only charitable organization in the USA whose sole mission is to ease the emotional stress, physical discomfort and financial burden of travel for cancer patients by arranging free flights to treatment centers, using the empty seats on corporate aircraft flying on routine business.
Mercy Medical Airlift is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving people in situations of compelling human need through the provision of charitable air transportation. MMA is totally supported through charitable giving and the services of volunteer pilots and office assistants. MMA's mission is to facilitate a charitable means of long distance medical air transport for all medically indigent, low-income and financially vulnerable patients in our society thereby ensuring equal access to distant specialized medical treatment or to appropriate facilities and settings for continuing care.
